Tara Sheldon is a lifelong pursuer of equality and justice. As a child, she lamented the confinement of wild animals at zoos, and upon learning of the traumatic experiences of all farm animals, decided to stop eating meat at 13 years old. Her passion for social justice was amplified in college and graduate school studying Psychology, Women’s Studies and obtaining her Masters in Social Work.
As the mother of the first elementary aged student to come out in her school district, she has been advocating for LGBTQ students ever since. Tara channels her advocacy for social justice as a board member for CAMP Rehoboth, and as president of Rehoboth Beach VegFest.
